It was time to kick the rust off of my 3D/CGI skills that I haven’t really used since college. Without wanting to cough up the dough for one of the big, expensive suites I decided I’d finally give Blender, the free CG software, a fair shake and found it to be incredibly robust and user friendly.

I dove into a couple tutorials and got my CG legs back and couldn’t be prouder of what I made – a donut with a nice cup of coffee to go along with it. I’m almost ashamed to say it, but what I learned and made in a week’s time puts a lot of my school projects to shame using programs like Maya and 3DStudioMax.
